Title: Six-Gun Snow White

Snow White. In the Far West. That’s it, that’s the book.
No, okay, to be fair it’s not just a simple retelling and there’s a lot about racism, dysfunctional families, people who are related by blood versus the people you can relate to and who will offer help you when you need it, and about the idea that sleeping for a century waiting for a prince’s kiss is a lot of bull-poop. However…
Eh, I don’t know. I wanted to like this because it had a lot of elements I adore (fairytale retelling in an unconventional setting, female POC protagonist, no romantic subplot) but in the end I liked the idea of the book much better than its execution.
Maybe I just don’t like how the author writes, it’s one of those peculiar styles that you either love or hate. Give it a try if you like fairytale retellings.
